Helix June 12 170 y, 1 left 1 right turn

This is a 3 legged track, 50 each for the first 2 legs and 70 for the last, scuffed 5 paces at the start and both pieces of the 2 corners. I cookie halfway thru each leg. 30 minutes old, low 70’s damp and breezy. My line is 15’ and he is at 10-15’. Helix starts off well but wanders off several times and clearly having trouble with the 2 turns. Should I scuff more of the turn leading up to and after the turn? Should I keep the line more like 5-10’? I can clearly see when he is off track but not wanting to help him too much (hoping he will look for it, tho he is clearly doing that, just more out ahead looking). Should I back up to help him? I don’t think more cookies will help. For all 3 of them he is tracking along and detours back to find the cookie…tho maybe this is what we want? Thanks for any input.
